Hi there! Currently, I am Program Chair for Disability Support Programs and Services for San Diego Continuing Education. I have several blogs that I have tried to work on. The one I use the most is the recipe blog. The second is my garden. Right now my goal is to create a learning strategies blog and add to it every day until I can think of no more strategies. This will be a great test of my stick-to-it-ness. Not my greatest suit.
Total fail in this area. Now I am trying again. Don’t know if strategies is the right way to go. Just keep at it I guess.

Many people like driving along the beach or across the country. However, my favorite place to drive is along the 395 Freeway to Lake Tahoe because I see amazing scenery, enjoy my family and anticipate the party to come.
On this scenic drive, I know there will amazing views. The Sierra Nevada Mountains are always beautiful. In winter, they are covered with snow and in summer they are surrounded with clouds. Mono Lake is also interesting because of the strange things growing out of the salt. It wouldn’t be a great trip without stopping at Sonic for the foot long hotdog and little bitty tater tots.
Another thing I love about this drive is being cooped up with my family in the car. We talk about the scenery and funny things that happened in the past. We play games like slug bug or find the license plate. Also, we reminisce about other road trips that we have had.
The main reason I enjoy the drive to Lake Tahoe is because I know that at the end of the road we will have lots to eat and drink. It will be one long party. My sister-in-law is a chef so she is always cooking amazing meals. My brother-in-law is always hilarious which is very entertaining. Their girls are the greatest children who love spending time with us.
The trip to Lake Tahoe is my favorite place to drive. I don’t know when I can go again, but I hope it is soon!
What is a hero? Who is your hero?
A hero is someone you look up to. My hero is my mom because she was my first teacher, she motivates me and she keeps me safe.
My mom is my hero because she was my very first teacher. When I was very small, she taught me how to walk. Then she taught me language so I could communicate with her and others. I could see the things that she saw and name them as well. Then she helped me with my homework so that was very valuable to me.
My mom is my hero because she motivates me. When I am feeling down, she can always lift me up with her good advice. Her great example shows me that I can do anything. I know that I can become a better person because my mom has shown me the way.
My mom is my hero because she keeps me safe and secure. She shelters me from harm. Although it is sometimes annoying, she knows who I should be with so I can stay away from negative people. No matter how old I get, my mom is always looking out for me.
Some people do not like their mothers, but to me, my mom is my hero. She has always been there for me since I was small, and she is still there now that I am older.
