Megawords rule #10 Vowel Suffixes
What is a vowel?
What is a vowel suffix?
Rule: If the suffix starts vowel, just attach it to the word and you will mostly be correct. BUT… watch out sometimes you have to double the C, drop the e, or change the y.

1-1-1 rule: 1 vowel, 1 syllable, ending with 1 C= double the C
Silent e rule: if the word ends in silent e, drop the e and add the suffix.Y rule: When the word ends in Cy, change the y to i and add the suffix. But keep the y if adding -ing

Megawords rule #9 Consonant Suffixes and Plurals
What is a plural?
What letter do we use to make most words into a plural?
If the word ends in s, c, z, sh or ch, you add ___ to make a plural.
If the word ends in Cy, then drop the y and add -ies.
If the word ends in Vy, then just add -s.

I have had several people ask for homework. So here goes.

This week we had

Megawords List 9: Consonant Suffixes and Plurals

If you have the list, choose 5 words and put them in sentences.

If you don’t have the list, here are some words you can use.

friendly, faithful, sickness, restless, camels, sandwiches

Once you have done the sentences, you can write a paragraph or essay to extend your thoughts.

For example,

I like to make sandwiches for lunch.

Lunch is my favorite meal although I am often too busy to sit down to eat. Mostly I try to eat some nuts which gives me protein. Also, I have some fruit such as an apple. To finish up, I drink some water. On the weekends, I might eat a sandwich. Grilled cheese sandwiches are my favorite.
